- What's being discussed in this article? This article is discussing how China's one child-policy was unfair and unjust. It was talking about a man in Beijing who refused to get his second child aborted. He then was fired from his job because of that. This was just an example of one person the article states that this is not a rare occurrence. But people are starting to get fed up with this law and also they are finding out that the fertility rate is actually two and their population growth rate is getting two low now and that this is becoming a serious problem. The Chinese government is considering raising the one child per family to two.
- When did the event happen? (Is this breaking news or something that's been analyzed and discussed for a while?) The Chinese government reconsidering the law is breaking news and the new statistics are breaking news the example used in the article was from august 19th 2010 but that similar event has been going on for years and it is actually not that uncommon. It sounds like it has been discussed for quite some time now.
- What questions do you have that would help make this article make more sense to you? What more do you need to learn about to be able to report on this event? What was the past birth rate. And just how over populated they actually were. How long this law has been active in China.

3 News Worthy Events Homework
The first news worthy event that stood out to me was the 9-11 terrorist attack. It really got to me. I was just so taken back by what had just happened at the time I believe I was in 3rd or 4th grade and right before I was leaving the house the news came on and seeing that live happening right front of me, and seeing the sheer terror on my parents face and just listining to the pure chaos and panic on the news it just really got to me. I still remember that morning to this day like it was yesterday.
The second news worthy event that stood out to me was hurricane katrina. I remeber how we all just watched for days on the news this huge hurricane on a crash course with the US and there was nothing anyone could do. And then the day it hit New Orleans. But what really got to me was the news coverage the week after showing the total destruction of New Orleans. Millions of peoples houses were underwater and all the people could do is watch and wait. The event was really eye opening for me because I thought about just how many people were now homeless with no food or shelter and how all of their personal belongings are destroyed and there was nothing me personally could really do.
The third news worthy event that stood out to me was the recent BP oil spill. It just amazed me on how a couple peoples carlessnes could cause so much damage and havoc. I really felt completely helpless we all did there was nothing any of us could really do accept try and contain the spill and to make a cap. Just thinking of all the animals that were killed and could still be killed by all of this oil. And how the oil is just ruining sealife and the beaches. It was just kind of one of the first times I really felt like no one really knew what to do.
The adult part of this assignment is coming soon in reply to this blog post. Sorry.
